Kandy Paws was created during the 2020 lockdown
What a tough time for everyone, but as they say something good always comes out of something bad. How did we come up with the name?
The owners are a couple that met many moons ago whilst teaching (that’s another story) they always hung out together. So the students gave them the nickname “Kandy”. The “K” is the first letter of the hubby’s name and the ”andy” well that came from the majority of wife’s name. Cute name right? They laughed at the time, but promsied each other that one day, they would do something with that name, perhaps open a business.
So how did they end up here?
The Mrs grew up with animals. From having budgies to rabbits and bringing home stray hedgehogs and starlings (maybe even a butterfly or two), she always had a furry or feathery friend.
When the couple first bought their house, they decided to get a cat, Ellie Mae Rose (hey it works!). A few years later it was decided that little Ellie needed some company. That’s when Roxie joined the family.
Roxie took over the household and invaded Ellie’s space, a true nutcase. She is the most gentle, soppy little cat, who will steal anyone’s heart, but that’s not all. She is the most beautiful Ragdoll you’ll ever meet, and with that, the love and obsession of this breed began.
The lockdown of 2020 also brought the couple closer to their neighbours who live opposite. They instantly hit it off over a Thursday night NHS clap and thus began a beautiful life long friendship.
Some months later, the neighbours and Kandy found themselves with another five Ragdolls! Ellie and Roxie had another two cats to play with and the neighbours, well they went from zero to two!It’s safe to say, collectively we become crazy cat people. We love everything about them and decided to join forces and go on this wonderful adventure.
That’s where the story began. Kandy Paws, an online luxury pet boutique was launched in August 2020. KandyDolls became the official GCCF prefix (registered breeders). The plan to share our Ragdolls with the world began.
