Have you ever found yourself trying to take a moment to escape the gloom of a stressful day by looking at photos and videos of cute animals, don’t worry, you’re not alone. We all do it. Ten videos and an hour later, we are still watching.

It is no surprise that animals offer many mental health benefits, so those amusing photos of curious cats and soppy dogs you love looking at might be the secret to alleviating stress and making you smile.

When we see a puppy or kitten we immediately feel warm and fuzzy inside. There are numerous reasons why puppy and kitten hire can assist in calming us down and improving our mood. We all find ourselves making those cute noises when we are in the presence of a little puppy or kitten, well imagine being surrounded by them!

Our furry (and feathery) friends are well known to have an instant effect on our mood, especially puppies and kittens, it is no wonder puppy therapy and kitten therapy is a popular way to relieve stress. Being around a puppy or kitten can brighten any one’s day with an adorable, soft cuddle.

Here at Kandy Paws we have a special soft spot for kitties, especially Ragdolls. We love them! Did you know Ragdolls also loved to be loved! They are one of the most sociable cats on the planet. They love people and love attention! That’s where we came up with the idea of Paws for a Pawty.

A Paws for a Pawty session is more than just allowing employees or (children) to socialise with beautiful, cute kittens, though. It has huge benefits! Whilst brightening up anyone’s day, being around gorgeous, playful kittens, will make you feel relaxed, happy and put the biggest smile on your face!

Do animals really help us relax?

Yes. Stroking and petting not only helps our pets to relax, but it also makes us feel calm. The rhythmic action of petting an animal is known to have the same calming effect we get from meditation.

Dogs and cats can also help to release oxytocin, the chemical associated with being in love. This chemical creates a calming effect that helps us to feel more relaxed.

What are the benefits of being around kittens?

It is proven that interacting with animals has a positive effect on mental health in humans. Spending time sharing some fun or just quiet time with a pet – or a group of fluffy kittens – will help to reduce anxiety and stress levels.

You can pet and play with our adorable, energetic kittens. Once they are worn out (good luck with that!), they will curl up into a ball in your lap and take a snooze, you might even hear them purring away. Being with these gorgeous creatures is an all-round great sensory experience and one you will never forget.

Kitten therapy builds on the pre-existing human-animal bond. Sitting and playing with a cat can aid in the relief of a variety of physical and mental issues.

It can help reduce blood pressure and improve overall cardiovascular health. It can also release endorphins that produce a calming effect. Crucially, kitten therapy can help to develop social skills, increasing our willingness to join in, and improving interactions with others.

Don’t forget, you’ll also be helping our little kitties to socialise and help them to learn to make friends with humans before they leave to go to their furever homes! It also gives mummy a little break for a few hours whilst the kitties are entertained elsewhere!
